Yes, you heard it right! And we're not talking customization as in changing the name of the city and mentioning your company name every fifteen minutes. I approach EVERY job as if it were a production. I discuss your goals and objectives, study the values and missions of your organization, get to know your group in advance, find out your theme and event objectives, and then sit down and weave my magic. Combining what I've learned, with my wacky cast of characters, I write a one-woman show just for you - that will leave your attendees talking about it for years. I have truly found a way to step outside of the same-old-same-old-speaker-on-a-platform-rambling-about-what-they-know-mixed-in-with-a-tired-old-audience-exercise - to give you a truly unique experience - where my message isn't told, it's shown.

While listening to the luncheon speaker at this year's Basic Skills/ Family Literacy Conference, I was mesmerized by Kelly Swanson's talent. She had the audience spellbound as we journeyed with her in the story, "Who Hijacked My Fairy Tale?". She spoke about life, about experiences that, for a moment, were no longer her story but resembled bits and pieces of mine. Then, as looked around the audience, I could see that she was also telling their story. I realized she had even penetrated the walls and had gone outside the luncheon into the community and into our classrooms. She was now telling the story of our students. I watched audience members as they gazed up at her, some with mouths open and jaws dropped while twisting around to get a better view. This unassuming story-teller told about the joys and sorrows of her childhood and how those experiences influenced her life. She fondly recalled a woman who always told her she was special and would say, "You have a light shining in you, even if you can't see it yourself." I wanted to share Ms. Swanson's inspiring message, and, as she said, "Don't ever underestimate the power in you or the power in a word or a gesture.
