Marlene Goodman - Caricature Artist - Chicago, IL
Located in a NW suburb of Chicago, I have been a freelance illustrator since 1986, who offers a whole assortment of creative services from doing drawings for product development in giftware, to editorial/book and humorous illustration, to caricature. I also fancy myself something of a humorous writer, but can handle the serious matters, too.
My illustrative art and caricature work are done in markers or pencil, color pencil, ink or watercolor or even mixed media. My party work is done with markers in black and white and gray, with some spot colors, and comes ready-to-frame in a white cardboard matt.
I am a graduate of Southern Illinois University with a degree in art education and had 12 years of work experience with graphic production before going into business for myself.
I have years of teaching and workshop experience, working with children and adults of all ages and am moving in the direction of animation and writing. |

Bill Begos - Caricature Artist - Milwaukee, WI
Bill recalls drawing his first caricatures back in the 5th grade. He believes that they were well received due to the gasps of his fellow classmates and his many trips to the principal's office. However, life took him on another path. He went to college to become a psych-major. He continued to draw in the margins of all his papers much to the chagrins of his academic advisor. It was suggested to Bill that perhaps he should forget about pursuing his masters degree and instead make a career drawing those wonderful little characters that
appeared on all his papers.
Who was Bill to question destiny. He has been drawing and performing live for over 15 years. He is packed with markers, paper and a smile, ready to draw your faces anytime, anyplace.
So, the next time you are having a corporate party, picnic, birthday, wedding, Bar Mitzvah, grand-opening, trade show, or any other event where you want that something special think of caricatures and think of Bill Begos. |

Bernie Tennis - Caricature Artist - Madison, WI
Like many people, Bernie Tennis loved to draw and paint as a child and. Also like many people he dropped this activity sometime in his teen years when other interests arose. Though somewhere in the back of Bernie's mind the art bug was just waiting to bite again.
After receiving a degree in an unrelated (technical) field Bernie discovered that his work did not provide him with a great deal of satisfaction, so he set about rediscovering the artist within. He enrolled in university art courses and began drawing and painting constantly. Though Bernie would draw anything, his favorite subjects tend to be people. Gradually he began to move into the business of portraiture and caricature.
Most of his work is done live at parties, festivals, art shows, and every other type of event imaginable. He uses Caran d’ Ache painting crayons and lithographic crayons, which produce pastel and charcoal effects, but are permanent (no smearing occurs and no fixative spray is required). Part of effect of what he does, is in the process, the show. A line of people waiting to be drawn usually forms and others may stop to observe and joke with one another, ask questions, or tease the current person being drawn.
While Bernie works he keeps his primary objective in mind: to produce a personalized drawing which draws upon the uniqueness of each individual. |
